How to Clean Your Lunchbox Packs
November 01, 2022
When's the last time you gave your Lunchbox Pack some TLC? Just as you take a warm shower or hot bath after a fun festival weekend, your pack deserves some lovin too right? Here are our recommended steps on how to keep your pack in tip top shape for your next event!
Hydration Packs
Step 1
Take out all of your equipment and any leftover goodies you had stashed away in your pack.
Step 2
Remove your skin and any lightshow wires. Use an antibacterial wipe or a towel with some warm water and soap to wipe down the skin and lightshow wires.
Pro tip: If you want to recreate your design later, be sure to take a picture of your pack first!
Step 3
Grab one of our cleaning kits and follow the instructions to easily sanitize your bladder and hose. Otherwise, you can use some warm water and soap to thoroughly rinse out your bladder, hose, and mouthpiece. For step-by-step instructions, see this blog post.
Step 4
Open all compartments of your pack and toss it in the washer on its own. Use a normal detergent and wash on a delicate cycle with warm or cold water.
PRO-TIP: Place ¼ cup of distilled white vinegar to the rinse/fabric softener dispenser which helps remove sweat and oils, preserve the color of your pack, and soften the airmesh material. DO NOT USE BLEACH.
Step 5
Air dry only with all pockets open. DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DRYER!
PRO-TIP: Loop the handle at the top of the pack to a hanger when ready to dry.
Extra Pro Tip
Are your shoulders experiencing some chafing? If so, be sure to tighten your straps fully to avoid them from rubbing on your skin while you strut your best dance moves. You can also try putting some deodorant on the straps and the area on your skin that gets chaffed to reduce the friction.

Mini Pack
Step 1
Empty your pack of all of its contents.
Step 2
Take off decorations + lightshow wires (snap a pic of your design for reference when you’re ready to put it back together) .
Step 3
If there is only a little bit of dust/dirt, wipe it off with a dry microfiber cloth and you can end your cleaning process here. But if there’s a substantial amount of dirt or built-up sweat on your pack, grab your spray bottle. Mix water with a few drops of mild soap, shake well, spray onto the pack, and wipe down thoroughly with the microfiber cloth. Repeat until you feel that your pack is sparkly clean.
Step 4
Use your other clean microfiber cloth to buff the pack, ensuring it’s dry.
Step 5
Optional: To keep your pack's vegan leather in its best shape and shine, you can use a specific vegan leather protector product or simply use a nickel-sized amount of baby oil on a dry microfiber cloth and buff your pack so that it is conditioned and moisturized.
Step 6
When not using your Mini Pack, store it in a cool, dry place without too much humidity so that your pack stays in tip-top shape for your next event.
Clear Hydration & Snack Pack
Step 1
Follow the above steps to run your pack through the washing machine.
Step 2
If the clear material is looking a little cloudy, dab a little vegetable or olive oil on a microfiber cloth and rub in a circular motion on the material.
Step 3
Let the oil sit for a minute then use a clean part of the microfiber cloth to "buff" the areas you went over with oil to remove any excess.
Step 4
Repeat steps 2 & 3 as needed to achieve optimal clarity.
